I must give an A for the day to Cooper’s dad, Stephen Myers, an engineering student who created a homemade iPhone controlled treat dispenser, in less than an hour, using a cd spindle case, ioBridge hardware, and wood scraps. Mom says it reminds her of something my grandpa would’ve helped her make in science class. Let’s hope Stephen figures out a way to market this… congrats Cooper!

I just had to share this with folks, I stumbled upon this on a finance website, it’s attached to a “Panic” button for when all the money and finance talk becomes too much, people can calm down to some puppies. Given the current state of the money world, I suspect the panic button is being put to good use.

Now, it’s time for animals to DEMAND the change we voted for!
President-elect Barack Obama is working to fill key positions in his administration, among them the Secretary of Agriculture and Secretary of the Interior. These positions have a tremendous impact on the treatment of animals and the enforcement of a broad range of laws—including those covering puppy mills, humane slaughter, animal fighting, and wildlife. It is critical that President-elect Obama appoint individuals who have a demonstrated track record of support for policies that protect animals.
Among the candidates being considered for these two positions, there are several who have taken a strong stance on animal protection. Please, ask the human in your life, to join me in urging President-elect Obama to seriously consider animal protection when appointing these positions.

Pet lovers everywhere have to appreciate this license plate I saw on the weekend in New York. Custom plates are big among people with passion, for this person that passion is obviously a pawfct pet. Has anyone else seen any pooch or pet related license plates worth a mention? Let us know in the comments below.

Mom and I received a devastating email this morning, from my friend Diva Nipper, about a horrible crime that was committed against a helpless 6 month old german shepard mix, named Karley. Glynn Johnson, a Los Angeles County Fire Chief, beat 6 month old puppy, Karley, so badly she had to be euthanized to end her suffering. This occurred last week in Riverside, CA. Please, take a few moments to help get the word out so that Glynn Johnson is punished to the full extent of the law.
For all the incredible work the LA County Fire Department does for us, especially in the recent fire tragedies, it is heartbreaking, and unforgivable, that someone whose job it is to PROTECT us, could be responsible for such a cruel and senseless act. Johnson is currently on “administrative leave” from the fire department, while the case is investigated by The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. Malicious and intentional injuring of an animal is a felony.
